Geraldine Cogdell

Geraldine Felton Cogdell, 86, born August 4th, 1918, passed on September 3rd 2004. She was born in Lone Oak, Texas and raised in Artesia, New Mexico. After marrying Frank M. Cogdell in 1936, they and their young daughter moved to Southern California where they lived for 7 years. In 1950, they moved to El Paso, Texas where she lived the rest of her years. Known to many of her family and friends as Honey, she had a strength of character that radiated from her to all of us, yet gentleness and caring were her greatest attributes. Her presence will be missed by all whose lives were touched by her but she lives on in our hearts. She was preceded in death by parents, Houston and Ruth Felton and brothers, James and Gene Felton. She is survived by her loving husband, Frank; her devoted daughter, Barbara McClure; her two adoring grandchildren, Cheryl McClure and life partner Joe Heifer of Portland, Oregon; and Gerry and wife, Debbie and great grandson, Michael McClure of Clint, Texas. Her surviving brothers and sister are Bill Felton and wife, Joy; Peggy Pool and husband, Carl; Dwain Felton; John Felton and wife, Dorothy; Bob Felton and wife, Heather and many nieces and nephews. Family and friends will come together to celebrate her life and gather strength to continue without her in Artesia, Monday, September 6, 2004 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., and with a Chapel service on Tuesday, September 7, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. both at Terpening Son Mortuary. Burial will follow at Woodbine Cemetery.
