Geraldine Bain

April 13, 1930 — August 28, 2012

Memorial service is scheduled at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 1 at the Community Center in Lake Arthur, New Mexico for Geraldine Gerrie Bain of Lake Arthur.

Mrs. Bain died August 28, 2012 at the Heartland Nursing Center in Artesia.

The Rev. Don Johnson will officiate at the services and a meal at the Community Center will follow the service. Cremation is under the direction of Terpening Son Mortuary.

Gerrie was born in Mineral Wells, Texas and was raised in Carlsbad, New Mexico.

In 1967 she married her husband Audey and they moved to Lake Arthur in 1975. He preceded her in death on January 11, 1999. She was also preceded in death by her father, Roy Warren sister Louise Menzdorf and daughters Sharon Vester and Mary Lou Prather.

Gerrie was the Village Clerk for the city of Lake Arthur for 16 years. She was a member of the Lake Arthur First United Methodist Church and served for 16 years as SecretaryTreasurer for the Lake Arthur Fire Department. She was also a member of the Lake Arthur Joy Center. Gerri became very well known in her community and in later years spent much of her time at the Joy Center. She loved arts and crafts, particularly sewing, crochet and needlepoint. Her chihuahuas were her constant companions at her home.

Gerrie is survived by her sons Roy Bain and wife Kathy of Loco Hills, N.M., and Joe Bain of Lake Arthur mother Kate Stackhouse of Carlsbad brothers Jim Warren of Flagstaff, Arizona, and Bob Warren of Carlsbad grandchildren Kendra Bain of Roswell, Cheree Bain of Portales, N.M., Tyler Bain of Oklahoma, and Matthew Bain of Loco Hills.
