Services are scheduled at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, Jun. 16, at First Baptist Church, Artesia, N.M., for Georgia Needham, 8295 Cherokee Rd, Lake Arthur, New Mexico.
Mrs. Needham, 94, died Sunday, June 12, 2011 at Heartland Nursing Center in Artesia, New Mexico.
Walt Isaacs and Ryan Figg will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons Johnny Crook, Mark Crook, Bryan Scott, Corey Needham, Wayne Needham, and Darren Needham. Honorary pallbearers will be granddaughters Pat Ivans, Janie Morris, Lauri Figg, Shaunna Smith,and Jennifer Houghtaling.
Georgia was born December 29, 1916 in Ranger, Arkansas the daughter of Berry Monroe Mills and Effie Watts Mills. She came to Artesia in 1929 from Ranger.
She was married to Willard Needham in New Mexico. He preceded her in death October 31, 1970.
She was a housewife, mom and grandmother. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Lake Arthur, N.M.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sons Kenneth Wayne and Willard Edwin, a sister Mabel Chumbley, a brother H.H. Mills, and a soninlaw Tom Crook.
Survivors include sons Jerry Needham and wife Kay of Lake Arthur, and Lewis Needham and wife Susan of Lake Arthur daughters Charlene Crook of Cottonwood, N.M., and Peggy Scott and husband Bill of Lake Arthur sister Joyce Faulk and husband Harold of Otis, N.M. 11 grandchildren, 29 greatgrandchildren, and 20 greatgreatgrandchildren numerous nieces and nephews.
