George Norris

Graveside services are scheduled at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 2, at the Hagerman Cemetery in Hagerman, New Mexico for George Rex Norris of Hagerman. PMr. Norris, 84, died Sunday, April 29, 2007 at Eastern New Mexico Medical Center in Roswell, New Mexico. PRev. Stephen Deutsch will officiate at the services. PMr. Norris was born August 1, 1922 in Cottonwood, New Mexico; the son of John Morgan Norris and Margaret May Gillespie Norris. POn Sept. 20, 1950 he was married to Opal Lewis in Artesia, New Mexico. He was a lifelong resident of Hagerman. PHe was a farmer and an avid outdoorsman. He loved to hunt, fish, and camp. He especially enjoyed riding around the farm with his dogs. PHe was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and three sisters.
Survivors include his wife Opal Norris of family home; sons George Riley Norris and wife Janet Lynn of Roswell, and Ronald Norris and wife Jill of Hagerman; daughters Suzanne Dawson and husband Charles of Huntsville, Texas, and Margaret Runyon and husband Kevin of Chandler, Arizona; sisters Dorothy Norris of Artesia, and Johnnie Mae Laman of Artesia; grandchildren Jason Dawson, Chad Dawson, Shawna Runyon Acosta, Justin Runyon, A-Lora Norris, and Bryan Norris.
