A time of remembrance and fellowship is scheduled from 3-5:00 p.m. Sunday, May 24, at the home of George Boyse, 3902 W.Richey Avenue, Artesia, New Mexico. Mr. Boyse, 82, died Wednesday, May 20, 2009 at his home. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Terpening Son. Mr. Boyse was born March 7, 1927 in Fristo Missouri; the son of George Lee Boyse, Sr. and Ollie Axley Boyse. He served his country in the United States Army during W.W. II. On June 11, 1949 he was married to Marjorie Campbell in Alamogordo, N.M. They came to Artesia in 1958 from Oregon. George was the operatorowner of George Boyse Trucking. He enjoyed being a mechanic and fixing just about anything that needed it. He had a deep desire and loved spending time with his family. He also loved animals especially his horses and dogs. George was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Bob Boyse, and Dutch Boyse; and sister Helen Cline. Survivors include his wife of 60 years Marjorie Boyse of the family home; daughters Milda Goodlander and husband Jim of Edgewood, N.M., and Sheila West and fiance Dwight Phillips of Artesia; sister Thelma Wadkins and husband Bill of Artesia; grandchildren Justin Truitt of Stillwater, Oklahoma, Betsy Truitt-Newton of Edgewood, Rob Goodlander of Estancia, N.M., David West of Artesia, and Gail Dalton of Canyon Lake, Texas; 8 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
