Services are scheduled at 9:30 A.M. Friday, March 7 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for Geneva Hernandez of Artesia, New Mexico. Mrs. Hernandez, 90, died Sunday, March 2, 2003 in Artesia. Father Paul Murtagh will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Richard Frazee, Mike Hernandez, Andrew Pacheco, Ray Chavez, Ramon Frazee, Ernest Almanza, Rene Frazee, and Luis Mariscal. Mrs. Hernandezs grandchildren will serve as honorary pallbearers. A Rosary service is also planned for 6:30 P.M Thursday at Terpening Son Mortuary. She was born in Tularosa, New Mexico; the daughter of Maximillian Lopez and Julianita Carrillo Lopez. She came from there to Artesia in 1932. On November 25, 1935 she was married to Ramon Hernandez in Artesia. He preceded her in death April 28, 1987. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son Ramon Hernandez, Jr.; four sisters; and one brother. She was a homemaker and member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church; St. Francis of Assisi; Cursillistas; Sacred Heart; Moose Lodge; and P.T.A. She was past president of the Artesia Good Samaritan Center Auxiliary where she volunteered and played in the Looney Tuners Band. Survivors include daughters Esther Frazee of Artesia, Martha Easley and husband Dale of San Bernardino, Calif., Margaret Pacheco and husband Fred of Roswell, N.M., and Josephine Weaver of Roswell; 15 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
