Geneva Gable

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 23 at West Main Baptist Church for Geneva Gable of Artesia, New Mexico.

Mrs. Gable, 87, passed away on May 21 at Mission Arch in Roswell, N.M.

Pastor Jason Kraft will officiate at the service with burial to follow at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers are Tommy Montgomery, Ottie Speir Jr., Jim Parsons, Ed Parsons, Dale Bristow, Randy Bristow and Paul Alvarez. Honorary pallbearer is Don Conner.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 22 at Terpening & Son Mortuary from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Geneva was born on June 21, 1930 in Gorman, T.X.; the daughter of Yancy N. Campbell and Ruffie Mae (McGaha) Campbell. On September 2, 1949 she married Chester Gable in Roswell. The couple came to Artesia in 1953. Chester preceded her in death on November 9, 2008.

She was a Bookkeeper and a member of West Main Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening and sewing.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Dean Campbell, sister-in-law Frances Rodriguez, sister Ruth Pope, brother-in-law Stanley Pope and sister-in-law Barbara Campbell.

Survivors are her son Robert Gable of Artesia; daughters Melinda Piper and husband Al of Artesia and Cheri Crouch of Artesia; brother Marvin Campbell of Lovington, N.M.; grandson Dakota Crouch and wife Alyssa and great-grandchildren Ember Crouch and Conor Crouch.
