Memorial graveside services are scheduled at 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 6, at Woodbine Cemetery for Gayla Sue Scott, 2500 W. Missouri Ave., Artesia, New Mexico. Mrs. Scott, 50, died Saturday, June 30, 2007, at her home. Rev. J. B. Craft will officiate at the services. Honorary pallbearers will be Wayne Reed, Laurance Bethke, Albert Sanchez, Madge Nabours, and Alice Reed. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Terpening Son Mortuary. Mrs. Scott was born November 2, 1956 in Artesia, New Mexico; the daughter of Wilbert A. Genzer and Edith Melton Genzer. A lifelong area resident, she was a clerk for Blue Quail and Fenn's Country Market and attended First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; and by grandparents Frank and Mary Melton. Survivors include her longtime companion Geary Bethke of Artesia; daughter Krisha Scott; caretaker Doris Lockler of Artesia; sister Carole Davis of Georgia; brothers Wilbert Genzer of Georgia, and Terry Genzer of Carlsbad, N.M.; granddaughter Adyn Wynter Scott; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and co-workers in Artesia, Carlsbad and Loco Hills.
