Gavin Soto

Memorial Services are scheduled for Saturday, August 19, at 11:30 a.m. at West Main Baptist Church for Gavin Soto of Artesia.

Mr. Soto, 20, passed away on August 13, 2017 in Artesia, N.M.

Keith Kilpatrick will officiate at the service. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Terpening & Son Mortuary.

Gavin was born on October 6, 1996 in Carlsbad, N.M.; the son of Jason J.Tavera and Monica J. Soto. He was raised by his sweet and loving grandparents Roberta C. Soto and Isreal Soto. He was loved by all his brothers, sisters, family and friends. Gavin had a big heart and loved unconditionally. He had an amazing smile that could brighten anyone's day.

Gavin loved skateboarding, art, music and making people laugh and smile. He was ONE OF A KIND.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother Frances Tavera and an uncle Raul Soto, Jr.

Survivors include his grandparents Roberta and Isreal Soto; mother Monica Soto; father Jason Tavera and wife Andria; siblings Jason Tavera II, Loretta Tavera, Alexis Soto, Maribel Tavera, Marcos Tavera, Raul Angel Valencia, Joel Valencia, Mateo Tavera, Jonathan Soto and Mauricio Tavera; aunts and uncles Ruby Lozada, John Tavera, Micjey Munoz, Jeanette Silva (Tweety), Marie Soto Hanel and Olivia Soto Guthrie.
