Gail Lamb

Gail Lamb of Artesia, New Mexico died peacefully on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at his home at the age of 97 surrounded by his family. Gail was born to Charles and Myrtle Lamb at Cross Cut, Texas on December 11, 1927. Gail served his country in the Navy during World War II. He came to Artesia in 1954, where he supported his family by working in the oil fields for 55 years for numerous companies in the area. Gail finally retired at the age of 81. He was a lifetime member of the Benevolent & Protective Order of the Elks and a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge.

Gail is survived by his sister Mercedes Coulter, daughters Frances Lamb, Stephanie Birdett, son Gail Lamb JR (Debbie), granddaughter Kimberly Combs (Chris), grandson Jason Lamb (Amanda), great grandchildren Lauren Combs, Maisy Combs, Khloie Lamb, Emma Lamb, Cassidy Combs, Claire Lamb, Trevor Lamb and numerous nieces and nephews.

Gail was proceeded in death by his parents, brother Charles Lamb, sisters Charlotte Ray Hill, Margaret DeBault, wives Ellen Lamb and Marie Lamb and son Roger Lamb.

The family wishes to thank J & J Home Care, Enhabit Hospice, and his wonderful caregivers Vera, Ruth, Lucy, Kate, Leslie, Isabel and Ronda. A special thanks to his daughter-in-law Debbie for the years of care and coordinating of his every need.

A memorial service for Gail will be held at Faith Baptist Church on Saturday April 26th at 10:30am.
