Fritz Hudson

Services are scheduled at 10:00 a.m. Monday at Terpening Son Mortuary for Frederick Vaughn Fritz Hudson, 1809 N. Freeman Ave., Artesia, New Mexico.

Rev. Hudson, 81, died Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at Artesia General Hospital.

Robert Ellis will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Lupe Salazar, Gene Campos, Robert Dowell, Tommie Dewey, Rick Smith and Antonio Salinas.

Fritz was born April 2, 1930 in Refugio, Texas the son of Frederick V. Hudson, Sr. and Ella Nora Carter Hudson.

He honorably served his country in the United States Marine Corp during the Korean War.

On June 14, 1978 he was married to Charlotte Mann in Wink, Texas. They came to Artesia in 1988 from Corpus Christi, Texas.

He was a Baptist minister and a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, a grandson, two brothers, and a sister.

Survivors include his wife Charlotte Hudson of the family home sons Ted Hudson of Cleburne, Texas, Fred Hudson III of Cleburne, and Aubrey Hudson of Carlsbad, N.M. daughters Janice Miller of Elk City, Oklahoma, Naomi Adair of Cleburne, Ruth Dowdy of Cleburne stepdaughter Cheryl Pennington of Artesia brother Tom Hudson of Corpus Christi, Texas sisters Calley Hill of Wichita Falls, Texas, Ina Raper of Alvarado, Texas, Geraldine McClure of Apple Valley, California, and Ann Royster of Hemet, California 12 grandchildren and 10 greatgrandchildren numerous nieces and nephews.
