Services are scheduled at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, June 3, 2006, at Terpening Son Mortuary for Freddy Cuate Olguin, Artesia, New Mexico. Mr. Olguin, 59, died Monday, May 29, 2006 in Lubbock, Texas. Pastor Artie Cantrell will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Olguin, Adam Olguin, Porfirio Porky Gonzales, Michael DeHoyos, Jimmy Gomez, and Joel Gomez. A prayer service is scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday at Terpening Son Chapel. Visitation at Terpening Son Mortuary will be on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. Mr. Olguin was born January 12, 1947 in Artesia, New Mexico; the son of Celestino Olguin and Antonia Gonzales Olguin. On May 19, 1965 he was married to Virginia Gomez in Carlsbad, N.M. He was a lifelong resident of Artesia. He was a heavy machinery operator in the oilfield and was a member of the Church of God. Mr. Olguin was preceded in death by his father. Survivors include his wife, Virginia Olguin of the family home; mother Antonia Olguin of Artesia; son Freddy Olguin, Jr. of Artesia; daughters Edwina Ornelas, Victoria Olguin, and Freda Olguin, all of Artesia; brothers, Eliseo Olguin of Las Cruces, N.M., and Abel Rodriquez, and Robert Olguin both of Artesia; sister Elfida Sanchez of Artesia; grandchildren Fredrick, Nathan, and Timothy Martinez, Brandon Olguin, Skyler, Billy Ray, Braxton, and Shaunte Teague, and Christian Diego Olguin; great-grandchildren, Leriah Rosa Sosa, Elijah James Olguin, and Jazmine Martinez; and numerous nieces and nephews.
