Fred Karr

Graveside services are scheduled at 2:00 P.M. Monday, May 2, at Woodbine Cemetery for Fred Karr of Artesia. Mr. Karr, 61, died of kidney failure, Wednesday, April 27, 2005 at his home. Don Price will officiate at the services. Pallbearers will be Armand Karr, Terry Rolan, Tommy Bailes, Charlie Lamkin, Wesley Havens, and John Yates JR. Visitation will be at Terpening Son Mortuary beginning at 2:00 P.M. Sunday. Mr. Karr was born October 4, 1943 in Artesia; the son of Cliff Karr and Beulah Melton Karr. On Feb. 14, 1987 he was married to Velma Bailes in Artesia. He was a lifelong resident of the Artesia area. He was a member of Trinity Temple, and an avid pool player. Mr. Karr was preceded in death by his parents, a son, and a grandson. Survivors include his wife Velma Karr of the family home; daughters Charma Rolan and husband Terry of Helena, Montana, and Debbie Bailes of Artesia; son Tommy Bailes and wife Yvette of Roswell, N.M.; brother Wayne Karr of Reno, Nevada; twelve grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
