Frank Villa

Graveside services are scheduled at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 13, at Woodbine Cemetery for Frank H. Villa of Artesia, New Mexico.

Mr. Villa, 85, died Friday, August 9, 2013 at Heartland Nursing Center.

Pallbearers will be Louis Florez, Eddie Florez, Gian Catano, Giovan Catano, Tim Berdoza, and Alex Berdoza.

Visitation will be at Terpening Son Mortuary Monday beginning at 10:00 a.m.

Frank was born July 17, 1928 in Artesia, New Mexico the son of Santiago Villa and Nestora Herrera Villa. He was a lifelong Artesia resident.

He served his country during World War II from January 16, 1946 to January 19, 1949 in the United States Army Air Corps.

On October 15, 1950 he was married to Dominga Calderon in Artesia. She preceded him in death January 18, 1999. He was also preceded in death by his parents sisters Emiliana Villa, Ramona Barela, Catarina Brizeno and brothers Nicolas Villa, and Johnny Villa.

He was a warehouse manager and a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. He was a daily patron of Wings restaurant where he has his own item on the menu called the Franks Special. Frank also enjoyed the outdoors including hunting, fishing and camping.

Survivors include his daughters Margie V. Harper and husband Robert, Jr. of Aurora Colorado, and Corrine C. Villa and husband Ernie Vineyard of Deming, N.M. sisters Tomasa Quiroz of Dexter, N.M., Geneva Lopez of Ojai, California, Mary Roush of New Albany, Ohio, and Emilie Garcia of Hobbs, N.M. brother Santiago Villa, Jr. of Denver, Colorado grandchildren Gian Catano, Giovan Catano, Velena Catano, and Cylia White greatgranddaughter Natasha White.
