Frank Loop

Services are scheduled at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 27, at Hermosa Drive Church of Christ for Frank Loop, Artesia, New Mexico.

Mr. Loop, 81, died Thursday, May 22, 2014 at his home.

Michael Joiner will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons Ryan Letcher, Brice Letcher, Chad Letcher, Jeff Letcher, Draven Bruton and Mitchell Bruton.

Visitation will be at Terpening Son Mortuary beginning at 2 p.m. Monday.

Frank was born May 28, 1932 in Longview, Texas the son of Francis Miles Loop Sr. and Hazel Exa Wilson Loop. He came to Artesia in 1957 from Midland, Texas.

On June 11, 1971 he was married to Shirley Pursley Letcher in Carlsbad, NM.

He served in the United States Army during the Korean War.

He was a sales engineer for Dowell Chemical. Frank was an avid golfer, member of the Artesia Country Club, Mens Golf Association, N.M. Senior Golf Association, and was a well known and respected local golfer influencing and teaching a lot of our young golf talent.

He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son, and by his best friend and golfing buddy Ed Patterson.

Survivors include his wife Shirley Loop of Artesia son David Loop of Crystal Beach, Texas daughters Lindy Loop of Galveston, Texas, and Jana Gatling of Citrus Fruit, Calif. stepsons J. Turner and wife Lee of Albuquerque, NM, Ronnie Letcher and wife Peggy of Artesia, and Randy Letcher and wife Patti of Artesia stepdaughter Robbi Bowyer of Artesia sister Carole Ann Windsor of Albuquerque grandchildren Miles Loop and Cayleigh Loop stepgrandchildren Ryan Letcher and wife Sarah, Tamara Letcher, Brice Letcher, Chad Letcher and wife Tabitha, Jeff Letcher and wife Jenny, Crystal Bruton and husband Daniel, Jobie Turner and Jerret Turner greatgrandchildren Draven, Mitchell, Austin and Kristin Bruton, Ashly and Caden Letcher, Elijah, Ashton, and Daysha Letcher, Braxton and Braylee Letcher.
