Francisco Gomez

Services are scheduled at 1:00 PM Wednesday, February 18, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for Francisco Renteria Gomez, 206 N. 15th St., Artesia, New Mexico. Mr. Gomez, 73, died Monday, February 16, 2004 at Artesia General Hospital. Fr. Richard Lifrak SS. CC. will officiate at the services with burial at Twin Oaks Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Armando Lopez, Alonzo Brito, J.J. Leos, Fidencio Gomez, Mandito Lopez and Marco Lopez. Mr. Gomez was born December 3, 1930 in Bastos, Texas; the son of Augustine Gomez and Dorotea Renteria Gomez. On Sept. 16, 1955 he was married to Herminia Gomez in Ojinaga, Mexico. He came to Artesia in 1984 from Hagerman, NM. He was a farm laborer and member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. A rosary is also scheduled at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Terpening Son Chapel. He was preceded in death by his parents, and four brothers. Survivors include his wife Herminia Gomez of the family home; son Eddie Gomez of Artesia; brothers Juan Gomez of Midway, NM, and Lupe Gomez of Albuquerque, NM; sisters Petra Valenzuela of Artesia, Carlota Tarin of Roswell, NM, Gabina Belos of Midway, and Romelia Gomez of Lubbock, Texas.
