Frances Stubblefield

Services are scheduled at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 25, at First Baptist Church for Frances Stubblefield of Artesia,.

Mrs. Stubblefield, 77, died Friday, November 21, 2014 at San Pedro Nursing Center in Artesia, NM.

Rev. Rick Sullivan will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Aaron Horner, Ron Horner, Stan McKee, Monte Leishman, Jim Hickerson, and Jimmy Watkins.

Visitation will be at Terpening Son Mortuary Monday beginning at 10:00 a.m.

Frances was born June 25, 1937 in Hillboro, New Mexico the daughter of William Lewis and Minnie Wolford Lewis. She came to Artesia in 1967 from Roswell, NM.

On May 23, 1953 she was married to Charles A. Stubblefield in Plains, Texas. They came to Artesia in 1967 from Roswell, N.M. He preceded her in death July 20, 2008. She was also preceded in death by her parents two sisters and two brothers.

Frances was a Public School Librarian. She has earned her Associates Degree from Eastern New Mexico University. She was an active member of First Baptist Church including teaching Sunday School for many years, and attended the community bible study. She was also a member of the Retired Teachers Association.

Survivors include her daughter Kathryn Ripley and husband Steve of Artesia sons Michael Stubblefield and wife Ruth Ann of Artesia, and Jeff Stubblefield and wife Melody of Artesia 8 grandchildren 17 greatgrandchildren 4 nephews and 3 nieces.
