Mr. Sandlin, 91, died Thursday, January 17, 2019 at his home.

He was a faithful member of First Baptist Church before he couldn't make it to church anymore. Gene was also a lifetime member of the N.R.A. and enjoyed working on old cars when he had the chance to. He was an avid hunter and a collector of shotguns. Most people will remember him by seeing him walking almost everywhere he went.
