Florencio Briseno

Services are scheduled at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 18, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for Florencio H. Briseno of Artesia, New Mexico. Mr. Briseno, 61, died Sunday, June 15, 2008 at his mother's home. Fr. Miguel Briseno will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Matthew Briseno, Steve Vargas, Gabriel Briseno, Mario Barragan, Matthew and Cilio Hernandez. Honorary pallbearers will be all of his friends and relatives too many to mention. Visitation will be at Terpening Son Mortuary Tuesday beginning at 10:00 a.m. A rosary will be at Our Lady of Grace Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. Mr. Briseno was born October 24, 1946 in Artesia; the son of Prudencio Briseno and Jila Hernandez Briseno. On Feb. 4, 1967 he was married to Erlinda Baca in Artesia. He was a lifelong resident of Artesia. Florencio worked as a car detailer. He was also a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, and the Artesia Moose Lodge. He was preceded in death by his grandparents. Survivors include his wife Erlinda Briseno of the family home; parents Prudencio and Jila Briseno of Artesia; daughters D'Mar Ortega and husband Kelly of Artesia, and Yvette Villalovos and husband Herman, Jr. of Artesia; brothers Albert Briseno and wife Linda of Ft. Smith, Arkansas, Salmon Briseno of Artesia, Ruben Briseno and wife Delia of Dumas, Texas, and Richard Briseno and wife Carmen of Roswell, N.M.; sisters Angie Vargas and husband Frank of Roswell, Lupe Campos of Artesia, and Dolores Barragan and husband Omar of Artesia; grandchildren Jeremy Bejarano, Thomas and Jason Villalovos, and Aubree Ortega; great-granddaughters Saryna and Ilyana Bejarano.
