Fernanda Bernard

Services are scheduled at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 6, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for Fernanda C. Bernard, 803 Cannon Ave., Artesia, New Mexico.

Mrs. Bernard, 73, died Friday, October 1, 2010 at her home.

Burial will be at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Joe Lopez, Mike McHenry, Roy Richards, Anthony Balencia, Ray Segura and James Fernandez.

A rosary is also scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of Grace Church. Visitation will be at Terpening Son Mortuary beginning at 10 a.m. Tuesday.

Mrs. Bernard was born May 30, 1937 in Banderos, Mexico the daughter of Cosme Castillo and Maria Vargas Castillo.

She was married to Raymond Bernard and he preceded her in death Jan. 13, 1991. She was a longtime resident of Artesia.

She was a meat wrapper for Payne Packing and member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson KristopherRae Munoz.

Survivors include son Raymond Bernard of Artesia daughters Elizabeth Marie Balencia of Artesia, and Loretta Ann Bernard of San Diego, Calif. brothers Manuel Castillo of Tucson, Arizona, Adrian Castillo of Tucson, and Trini Castillo of Artesia sisters Margie Garcia of Roswell, N.M., and Ignacia Alfaro of Lakeworth, Texas 5 grandchildren and 4 greatgrandchildren.
