Felipe Mendoza

Services are scheduled at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for Felipe Medrano Mendoza, 703 W. Texas, Artesia, New Mexico.

Mr. Mendoza, 82, died Friday, October 4, 2013 in Roswell, New Mexico.

Fr. Paul Murtagh, SS.CC. will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be family members.

Visitation will be at Terpening Son Mortuary Monday beginning at 10:00 a.m. Monday. A rosary is also scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Monday at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church.

Felipe was born September 15, 1931 in San Juan, Chihuahua, Mexico the son of Jesus Mendoza and Luz Medrano Mendoza. He came to Artesia in 1956 from Mexico.

On February 17,1956 he was married to Cruz Amalia Gardea in Mexico.

He was a farm laborer and a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Tobias Mendoza, two brothers, and 4 sisters.

Survivors include his wife Cruz Mendoza of Artesia sons Calletano Mendoza of Artesia, Martin Mendoza of Amarillo, Texas, and Lorenzo Mendoza of Houston, Texas daughters Josefina Mitre of Artesia, Flora Mendoza of Roswell, NM, Lourdes Armendariz of Artesia, Magdalena Mendoza of Artesia, and Alba Austin of Amarillo, Texas brother Guadalupe Mendoza of Mexico sister Mercedes Loya of Carlsbad, NM 15 grandchildren and 7 greatgrandchildren.
