Felicitas Acosta

Services are scheduled at 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 25th, at West Main Baptist Church for Felicitas Pedroza Acosta of Artesia, New Mexico.

Mrs. Acosta, 71, died Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas.

Belton Mathews will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Carlos Soto, Arnold Soto, Jr., Adon Esquibel, Catarino Porras, Timothy Roy Boone, Daniel C. Boone, David Pedroza, Jr., and Albert Madrid.

Felicitas was born February 27, 1943 in Lakewood, New Mexico the daughter of David Pedroza and Rosa Romo Pedroza. She was a longtime Artesia resident.

On April 22, 1979 she married Domingo U. Acosta in Carlsbad, N.M.

She was a homemaker and of the catholic denomination. Felicitas loved to spend time with her family and the grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father six sisters soninlaw Manuel Esquibel a grandchild and two greatgrandchildren.

Survivors include her husband Domingo Acosta of the family home mother Rosa Pedroza of Carlsbad, N.M. daughters Mary Esquibel of Artesia, and Beatrice Madrid and husband Enrique of Carlsbad sons Donisio Soto, Jr. of Artesia, Arnold Soto, Sr. of Las Cruces, N.M., Austin Boone of Artesia, and Daniel P. Boone and wife Melissa of Artesia brother David Pedroza, Jr. of Carlsbad sisters Angelita Sifuentes and husband Alberto of Roswell, N.M., Aurora Sonora and husband Hilario of Carlsbad, Lydia Fuentes of Carlsbad, Tina Lara of Carlsbad, Zenaida Pedroza of Artesia, and Rosie Olivas of Carlsbad 23 grandchildren 21 greatgrandchildren.
