Services are scheduled at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 1, at West Main Baptist Church for Faye Gomez, 1109 W. Grand Ave., Artesia, New Mexico.

Mrs. Gomez, 80, died Friday, May 27, 2011 at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas.

Pastor Abelardo Bolanos will officiate at the services with burial at Twin Oaks Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Chris Gomez, Marcos Dion Gomez, Mark Gomez, Adrian Romo, Ted Flores, Paul Flores, Robert Reyes and Aaron Romo. Honorary pallbearers will be Ruben Gonzales, Emilio Gonzales and Ray Gonzales.

Visitation will be at Terpening Son Mortuary beginning at 10 a.m. Tuesday.

Faye was born November 10, 1930 in Glencoe, New Mexico the daughter of Ruben Gonzales and Doritia Salsberry Gonzales. She came to Artesia in 1942 from Glencoe, NM.

On June 29, 1960 she was married to Cosme Gomez in Las Vegas, Nevada.

She was a presser for local dry cleaners and a member of Primera Iglesia Bautista.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Prosperito Gonzales, six sisters Viola Reyes, Helen Chavez, Olivia Rodriguez, Adelina Rodriguez, Oralia Hinojos and Oralia Perea.

Survivors include her husband Cosme Gomez of Artesia son Mark Gomez and wife Cynthia of Artesia daughters Tina Romo and husband Adrian of Midland, Texas, and Shannon Gomez of Artesia brothers Emilio Gonzales and wife Rachel of Artesia, Ruben Gonzales and wife Manuela of Carlsbad, N.M., and Ray Gonzales of Artesia sisters Rufina Rodriquez of San Bernadino, Calif., and Tillie Garcia and husband Temo of Artesia grandchildren Chris Gomez, Dion Gomez, Adrianna Romo and Nikki Romo several nieces and nephews.
