Evalene G. Brown No local services are scheduled for Evalene G. Brown, 89, who passed away November 20, 2004 at Artesia Good Samaritan Center. Evalene Brown was born September 18, 1915, in Seymour, Texas, to William Joseph and Lydia May Gillespie. She spent the majority of her life in the Elk Grove and Sacramento, California area, working as a nurse until her retirement. She moved to Artesia in January of 2002. Brown was preceded in death by three sisters and a grandson. She is survived by two children J.D. Biggs Jr. of Littlefield, Texas, and Sue Jeffries of Sacramento, California; three brothers Joe Wayne Gillespie, W.J. Gillespie, and Harold Gillespie all of Boyd, Texas; two grandchildren John D. Biggs III of Sacramento, California, and Sunny M. Biggs of Artesia; and her great-grandson Tyler A. Kelley of Artesia; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Cremation under the direction of Terpening Son Mortuary.
