Eva Rodriguez

Services are scheduled at 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 14, at Trinity Temple Assemblies of God Church for Eva M. Rodriguez of Artesia, New Mexico. Mrs. Rodriguez, 83, died Thursday, September 10, 2009 at her home. Bobby Argo and Manuel Carrera will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Nicky Rodriguez, Jr., David Carrasco, Michael Hernandez, Israel Juarez, Peter Chavez, Michael Contreras, Stephen Bolanos, and Nick Rodriguez III. Honorary pallbearers will be the grandchildren. Visitation will be at Trinity Temple Sunday beginning at 2:00 p.m. A prayer service will be at Trinity Temple at 6:30 p.m. Sunday. Mrs. Rodriguez was born July 28, 1926 in Lakewood, New Mexico; the daughter of Christobal Rodriguez and Francisca Dominguez Rodriguez. In September of 1954 she was married to Ignacio Nick Rodriguez in Carlsbad, N.M. She was a lifelong resident of Artesia. Eva was a C.N.A. at the Artesia General Hospital and a homemaker. She was a member of Trinity Temple Assemblies of God, American Legion Auxiliary, and the Artesia General Hospital Auxiliary. She also loved to crochet. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers; and two grandsons Marty Martinez, and Christobal Martinez. Survivors include her husband Ignacio Nick Rodriguez of the family home; daughters Mary Rodriguez of Artesia, Linda Martinez and husband Tony of Artesia, Delores Juarez and husband Lalo of Artesia, and Dora Gonzales of Albuquerque, N.M.; daughter-in-law Minnie Rodriguez of Artesia; sons David Carrasco and wife Sally of Carlsbad, and Nicky Rodriguez, Jr. of Artesia; sister Rita Chavez of Artesia; 15 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and 19 great-great-grandchildren. Memorial Contributions may be made to Vista Care Hospice or The Teen Challenge in care of Trinity Temple.
