Eva Delgado

Services are scheduled at 9:30 a.m. Friday, January 20, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for Eva Navarrette Delgado of Artesia, New Mexico.

Mrs. Delgado, 91, died Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at Eastern N.M. Medical Center in Roswell, New Mexico.

Fr. Brian Guerrini, SS.CC. will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Billie Delgado, Kevin Delgado, Javier Jaramillo, Danny Tesillo, Gabriel Delgado, and Patrick Delgado. Honorary pallbearers will be all of her grandchildren and greatgrandchildren.

Visitation will be at Our Lady of Grace beginning at 2:00 p.m. Thursday and a rosary will be held at the church at 6:30 p.m.

Eva was born September 27, 1920 in Loving, New Mexico the daughter of Florentino Navarrette and Julia Brizeno Navarrette. She was a longtime Artesia resident.

On Feb. 12, 1940 she was married to Meregildo Tony Delgado in Artesia, NM. He preceded her in death on October 20, 2007. She was also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, a sister, two grandchildren, and a greatgrandchild.

Eva was a homemaker and a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church.

Survivors include her sons Abel Delgado of North Carolina, Leo Delgado and wife Lorina of Artesia, Joe Delgado and wife Anita of Artesia, Jesse Delgado of Artesia, and John Delgado and wife Flora of Artesia daughters Elisa Bejarano and husband Alberto of Andrews, Texas Teresa Jaramillo and husband Benito of Artesia, and Sofia Tesillo and husband Nate of Artesia brother Cruz Navarrette of Roswell sisters Ramona Aguirre of Artesia, Ermina Ramirez of Artesia, and Eusevia Granado of Artesia 31 grandchildren and numerous greatgrandchildren and greatgreatgrandchildren.
