Eusebio Leyba

Services are scheduled at 9:30 AM. Monday, March 31, at Our Lady of Grace Church for Eusebio Chevo Garcia Leyba, 918 S. 2nd St., Artesia, New Mexico. Mr. Leyba, 77, died Thursday, March 27, 2003 at his home. Burial will follow at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Fabian Ornelas, Bobby Garcia, Steve Saiz, Michael Leyba, Johnny Ramirez, Jr., and Jeremy Ramirez. A rosary is also scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Sunday Terpening Son Chapel. Mr. Leyba was born September 28, 1925 in Ruidosa, Texas; the son of Carnacion Leyba and Magdalena Garcia Leyba. On Oct. 3,1943 he was married to Josephine Jiminez in Carlsbad, NM. He came to Artesia in 1935 from Carlsbad. He was a farm laborer and member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughters Esmeralda Quiroz and Amelia Morales, son Eusebio Leyba Jr., brother Carlos Leyba Sr., sisters Matilde Rodriguez and Julia Munoz. Survivors include his wife Josephine Leyba of the family home; sons Adolfo Leyba of Artesia, and David Leyba of Rolla, Missouri; daughters Manuel Saiz of Carlsbad, and Lucy Leyba of Artesia; brother Timoteo Leyba of Artesia; 15 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
