Services are scheduled at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 26, at First Baptist Church for Eugenio Urias Torres, 705 W. Cleveland Avenue, Artesia, New Mexico.
Mr. Torres, 67, died Sunday, August 21, 2011 at his home.
Elio Barrios and Abelardo Bolanos will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Rico Torres, Michael Sanchez, Ryan Molina, Jeremy Torres, Alfredo Torres Jr.,Fabian Torres and Eric Meza. Honorary pallbearers will be Anthony Molina and Simon Jimenez.
Visitation will be at Terpening Son Mortuary beginning at 10 a.m. Thursday. A prayer service is also scheduled for 6 p.m. Thursday at Terpening Son Mortuary.
Eugenio was born January 24, 1944 in Barrancos de Guadalupe, Mexico the son of Epifanio Torres and Paula Urias Torres.
On Sept. 11, 1967 he was married to Guadalupe Jimenez in Ojinaga, Mexico. He came to Artesia in 1972 from Mexico.
He was a farm laborer and a member of Primera Iglesia Bautista.
Survivors include his wife Guadalupe Torres of the family home sons Saul Torres, Domingo Torres and Alfredo Torres all of Artesia daughters Sylvia Sanchez, Rosalinda Molina and Socorro Jimenez all of Artesia brothers Benino Baeza of Albuquerque, NM, Rito Torres of Artesia, and Jose Torres of Monahans, Texas sisters Maria Jesus Alvarado of Artesia, and Victoria Medrano of Ojinaga, Mexico 17 grandchildren and 3 greatgrandchildren.
