Graveside services will be held at 10 am Thursday, at Twin Oaks Memorial Park for Eugene Billips of Artesia, New Mexico.
Mr. Billips, died on April 16, 2023 at his home in Artesia.
Eugene was born November 2, 1949 to Lon and Marie Billips in Artesia, N.M.
He graduated Artesia High School in 1968. He married Jan Wade in 1969 and they had one son Cregg Billips.
Eugene served in the United States Army and was wounded twice in Combat as he served an extended tour in Vietnam. He received two purple hearts, CIB, Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry and many more.
He worked at Navajo for over 22 years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing especially with best friends Roger Carper and Amy Baker. " In his younger days he loved to dance and partied a lot."
He was proceeded in death by his parents and siblings" Donald" Billips and Paula Clark.
He was survived by his son Cregg and fiance Cassie. Grandsons Hondo and Pecos Billips.
