Esther Welch

Memorial service is scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 9 at the First Evangelical Presbyterian Church for Esther M. Welch of Artesia, New Mexico.

Mrs. Welch died Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at Sunset Villa in Roswell, N.M.

Pastor Daniel Phelps will officiate at the services. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Terpening & Son Mortuary.

Esther was born June 4, 1943 in Denver, Colorado to John Nielson and Ruthe (Scott) Nielson.

On October 19, 1989 she married Gerald Welch in Anchorage, Alaska. They had live in Alaska for several years before moving to Artesia in 1990.

Esther was an Elementary School Teacher and had attended several churches in town spreading her love of the Lord all around Artesia. She enjoyed doing just about anything you could think of as long as it was outside especially exercising. She had a special place in her heart for children and loved her family time with her love Gerald.

Esther was preceded in death by her parents and her step-father John Allen Miller,I.

Survivors include her husband Gerald of the family home; daughters Jennifer Ballinger of Wassilla, Alaska and Heidi Jones of Anchorage; sons Kenneth Welch of Anchorage and Grayson Welch of North Carolina; six siblings; 13 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.
