Services are scheduled at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, March 12, at Trinity Temple Assembly for Esther Aguilar Leyba of Artesia, New Mexico.
Mrs. Leyba, 62, died Friday, March 6, 2015 at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas.
Bobby Argo will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Johnathon Martinez, Mark Sanchez, David Urias, Sammy Leyba, Jr., Sammy Sanchez,and James Calderon.
Visitation will be at Terpening & Son Mortuary Wednesday beginning at 10:00 a.m.
Esther was born September 27, 1952 in McCamey, Texas; the daughter of Epigmenio Aguilar and Guadalupe (Palacios) Aguilar. She was a longtime Artesia resident.
On December 16, 1972 she was married to Carlos Leyba in Carlsbad, N.M. He preceded her in death January 26, 2013. She was also preceded in death by her parents and a sister Mary Urias.
Esther was a homemaker and a member of Trinity Temple. She also attended the Artesia Senior Citizen Center, and enjoyed shopping, dancing, cooking, singing and loved to spend time with her family.
Survivors include her son Carlos Leyba and wife Anelica of Artesia; daughter Cynthia Goldston and Ashlea White of Lake Arthur, N.M.; grandchildren Victoria Leyba, Kristian Goldston, Keegan Goldston Angel Vega, Melanie Vega, Denae Vega, Kaitlyn Lard and Ashtyn Lard; sisters Virginia Chavez of Artesia, Julia Calderon of Houston, Texas, and Isabell Sanchez of Menard, Texas.
