Esther Duran

Services are scheduled at 1:00 PM Monday, March 5, at Forever Free Fellowship for Esther Martinez Duran, 15 Cardinal Road, Artesia, New Mexico.

Mrs. Duran, 73, died Thursday, March 1, 2012 in Lubbock, Texas.

Carlos Espinoza will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons Robert Duran, Dominic Duran, David Duran Jr., Rudy Duran, Jerome Duran, Fabian Duran, Eddie Duran Jr., John Edward Duran, Daniel Hernandez,Fabian Chavarria, and Jeffery Chavarria.

A prayer service is also scheduled at 7 p.m. Sunday at Forever Free Fellowship. Visitation will be at Forever Free Fellowship beginning at 4 p.m. Sunday.

Esther was born February 24, 1939 in Artesia the daughter of Frank Martinez and Lucinda Hernandez Martinez. She was a lifelong resident of Artesia.

She was a sales clerk and a member of El Getsemani Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, a sister, and two brothers.

Survivors include sons Henry Duran of Artesia, David Duran of Artesia, Ismael Duran of Artesia, Eddie Duran of Artesia, and Jerome Duran of Artesia daughters Nancy Hernandez of Roswell, NM, Marina Chavarria of Lake Arthur, NM, and Henrietta Delgado of Artesia brother Frank Martinez Jr. of Artesia 25 grandchildren and 34 greatgrandchildren a niece Naomi Hinojos.
