Esperanza Carrasco

Services are scheduled at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, June 24, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for Esperanza B Carrasco, 1412 W. Yucca Ave. Apt. B, Artesia, New Mexico. Mrs. Carrasco, 80, died Saturday, June 21, 2003 at her home. Fr. Benedict Folger will officiate at the services with burial at Lake Arthur Cemetery, Lake Arthur, NM. Pallbearers will be Joe Bermea, Jesus Bermea, Bernabe Carrasco, A.B. Carrasco, Miguel Carrasco, Ramon Carrasco, grandsons Matthew Carrasco and Brandon Carrasco. Mrs. Carrasco was born February 5, 1923 in Via Cuna, Mexico; the daughter of Ignacio Bermea and Juana Velasquez Bermea. On Oct. 6, 1948 she was married to Ramon S. Carrasco in Roswell, NM. She was a longtime area resident. He preceded her in death August 24, 1965. She was a housewife and member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. A rosary is also scheduled for 6:30 P.M. Monday at Terpening Son Chapel. She was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include sons Jesus Bermea of Odessa, Texas Jose Bermea of Odessa, A.B. Carrasco of San Antonio, Texas, Anselmo B. Carrasco of Hobbs, NM, Miguel B. Carrasco of Artesia, Fransisco B. Carrasco of Tucson, Arizona, Ramon B. Carrasco of Midland, Texas, and Bernabe B. Carrasco of Artesia; daughters Maria B. Carrasco of Artesia, and Esperanza C. Salas of Artesia; brother Nati Bermea of Midland; sister Manuela Carrasco of Midland; 21 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
