Tina Thomas

Services are scheduled for 2 pm Tuesday, February 20 at Terpening & Son Chapel for Tina Thomas of Artesia, New Mexico.

Mrs. Thomas, 85, died on February 8, 2024 at her home in Artesia.

Billy Jack Robinson will officiate at the services with burial to follow at Woodbine Cemetery. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Norman , and her daughter Deborah Lynn.

Survivors include her daughters Diana (John) Fenton and their children Jeramy (Mary), Jason, Tabitha (James), Brian, Louis, and Daniel (Unique) of California. Melissa Rutledge and her children Brandon (Britney) Nelson and Nathan and Natalie Rutledge of Artesia. Debbies daughter Shawleigh of Oklahoma. Tinas brother James (Kelly) Spurgeon, and her great Aunt Allie Spurgeon. 18 great-grandchildren, several cousins and nephews. 

Tina was born on July 30, 1938 in Ennis Texas; the daughter of Joseph Spurgeon and Opal McLain Spurgeon. She married Norman Thomas on August 25th 1956 in Lovington, New Mexico. She was an avid gardener and loved to be outside playing with her grandchildren. She was a Psych Unit Tech At A.V. Hospital in California for 20 years. She loved to crochet, sew and do various arts and crafts. She adored her parrot Crackers.
