Graveside services are scheduled at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 11, at Woodbine Cemetery for Ernest Carl Morgan, Jr., 901 W. Sears Ave., Artesia, New Mexico.
Mr. Morgan, 90, died Tuesday, November 9, 2010 at Artesia General Hospital.
Rev. Rick Sullivan will officiate at the services.
Mr. Morgan was born April 7, 1920 in Prospect Valley, West Virginia the son of Ernest Carl Morgan, Sr. and Rose Flowers Morgan.
He came to Artesia in 1937 from Graham, Texas. He graduated from Artesia High School in 1938. On June 26, 1941 he was married to Mary Adair in Carlsbad, N.M. She preceded him in death September 3, 1995.
He served in the United States Army during World War II.
He was an electrical contractor. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, past member Elks Lodge, and a member of the Alaska Native Brotherhood.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Gertrude Widmayer and Gladys Morgan, brothers Harold, Charles and Bill Morgan.
Survivors include a daughter Pamela Ann Langworthy of Ancho, N.M. sons Douglas Morgan of Artesia, Donald Morgan of Tenakee Springs, Alaska, and Ronald Chris Morgan of Artesia 6 grandchildren Kristen Dyson, Robby Morgan, Johnny Morgan, Tres Moore, Ross Morgan and Justin Morgan 8 greatgrandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
