Erlinda Perez

Funeral mass is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 11, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for Erlinda Luevano Perez of Artesia, New Mexico.

Mrs. Perez, 85, died June 5, 2020 at her home in Artesia, N.M.

Fr. V.J. will officiate at the services with burial to follow at Woodbine Cemetery.

Visitation will be at Terpening & Son Mortuary Wednesday, June 9 from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM.

A rosary will be recited Thursday at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace.

Erlinda was born January 9, 1935 in Pueblo, CO, the daughter of Ambrosio Luevano and Sarah (Aguilar) Luevano.

On May 4, 1955 whe was married to Gonzalo Perez in Carlsbad, N.M. They were long time Artesia residents.

Erlinda was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. She was a Crucillista and a member of the San Jose Society. She taught sewing and pottery classes and enjoyed swimming and line dancing. She was also a former member of the Artesia Moose Lodge and loved spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sons Jose Alfredo and Fernando Perez.

Survivors include her children Corrine and husband Joe Torres of Artesia, son Israel Perez and wife Mirta of Artesia, son Luis Perez and wife Nora of Artesia, daughter Margaret and husband Paul Lee of Cortez, Colorado, and son Albert Perez of Las Cruces; sisters Alice Ross of Snyder, Texas, Elvira Salinas of Santa Fe, N.M., and Frances Garrison of Albuquerque, N.M.; 10 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
