Emil Bach, Jr.

Services are scheduled at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 9, at West Main Baptist Church for Emil P. Bach, Jr., Artesia, New Mexico. Mr. Bach, 79, died Friday, January 6, 2006 at Artesia General Hospital. Rev. Jason Kraft will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be David Pittman, Donnie Pittman, Joel Paul Bach, Ray Lynn Draper, Michael Draper, and Clint Draper. Visitation at Terpening Son Mortuary will begin at 2 p.m. Sunday. Mr. Bach was born November 25, 1926 in Artesia; the son of Emil P. Bach, Sr. and May Vogel Bach. On July 7, 1948 he was married to Elizabeth McDonald in Artesia. He was a lifelong area resident. He was a rancher and farmer and member of West Main Baptist Church. He was an avid Bulldog fan beginning in high school where he played on the varsity basketball team. As an adult, he played in local basketball and softball leagues for many years. He was also an avid hunter. Survivors include his wife Elizabeth Bach of the family home; brother Albert Bach of Artesia; sister Evelyn Coughenour of Tucumcari, N.M.; nieces and nephews Leonard Ray Draper, Michael Draper, Clinton Draper, Joel Bach, Tracy Isgitt, Cathy McCord, and Cindy Payne. Memorial contributions may be made to the West Main Baptist Church Building Fund.
