Elvira Sanchez

Services are scheduled at 9:30 a.m. Friday, June 6, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for Elvira E. Sanchez of Artesia, New Mexico. Mrs. Sanchez, 46, died Monday, June 2, 2008 at Artesia General Hospital. Fr. Chris Santangelo, SSCC. will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Richard Gomez, Jaime Orozco, Daniel Esquibel III, Gabriel Carrasco, Jim Esquibel, Anthony Lopez, Fernando Sanchez, Alvin Codes, Jacinto Sanchez, Manuel Orozco, Lemyron Bishop, and Michael A. Briseno. Visitation will be at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church Thursday beginning at 2:00 p.m. A rosary will begin at church at 6:30 p.m. Mrs. Sanchez was born August 2, 1961 in Artesia, New Mexico; the daughter of Daniel Esquibel, Sr. and Enedina Dominguez Esquibel. Elvira was a lifelong resident of Artesia and worked as a homemaker. She was also a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her daughters Christina Gomez and husband Richard of Artesia, Margaret Ochoa of Artesia, Erica Sanchez and fiance Lemyron Bishop of Artesia, Danielle Valderas of Artesia, and Adriana Valderas of Artesia; brother Daniel Esquibel, Jr. of Leveland, Texas; sisters Estella Orozco of Leveland, Esmora Esquibel of Artesia, Elidia Carrasco of Lubbock, Texas. and Elba Lopez of Lubbock; grandchildren Elida M. Gomez, Stacy N. Gomez, Fey V. Gomez, Adrian J. Ochoa, Joel N. Ochoa, Isaiah F. Ochoa, Lamarius D. Bishop, Aniah N. Bishop, and Ladanion D. Bishop all of Artesia.
