Elvira Rodriguez

Services are scheduled at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 24, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for Elvira C. Rodriguez of Artesia, New Mexico.

Mrs. Rodriguez, 84, died Saturday, April 20, 2013 at her home.

Fr. Paul Murtagh, SS.CC. will officiate at the services with burial at Twin Oaks Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Joshua Garcia, Caleb Samora, R.J. Rodriguez, Jourdan Rodriguez, Juan Gomez,and Zachary Garcia. Honorary pallbearers will be Ernest Almanza and the remaining grandchildren.

Visitation will be at Terpening Son Mortuary Tuesday beginning at 10:00 a.m. A rosary will be at Our Lady of Grace Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.

Elvira was born April 28, 1928 in Carlsbad, New Mexico the daughter of Carlos Carrasco and Jesus Hernandez Carrasco. She came to Artesia in 1955 from Carlsbad.

On Jan. 30, 1955 she was married to Roberto Rodriguez in Carlsbad.

Elvira was a homemaker and a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. She enjoyed knitting and cooking and loved spending time with her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents daughter Cindy Almanza two sistersand a brother.

Survivors include her husband Roberto Rodriguez of the family home son Raul Rodriguez and wife Lorrene of Artesia daughters Selena Garcia of Artesia, Terry Rodriguez of Artesia, and Jeanie Garcia of Artesia soninlaw Ernest Almanza of Artesia sisters Cecilia Echavarria and Robert of Carlsbad, Maria Galindo and husband Mike of Carlsbad, Estella Carrasco of Lake Wood, California, and Alicia Herrera and husband Ralph of San Jose, California sisterinlaw Maria Carrasco of Carlsbad grandchildren Shannon Garcia, Joshua Garcia, Amber Rodriguez, Ashley Almanza, Caleb Samora, R.J. Rodriguez, Jourdan Rodriguez, Zachary Garcia, Alyssa Garcia, and Cheyenne Navarrette greatgrandsons Ayden Gomez, and Kaycen Samora.
