Elnora Jorren

Memorial services are scheduled at 2 p.m. Monday, November 22, at West Main Baptist church for Elnora Gage Jorren, 302 N. 4th St., Artesia, New Mexico.

Mrs. Jorren, 91, died Saturday, November 13, 2010 at Carlsbad Medical Center in Carlsbad, N.M.

Jason Kraft will officiate at the services. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Terpening Son Mortuary.

Mrs. Jorren was born April 14, 1919 in Hope, New Mexico the daughter of George W. Gage and Lillian Voris French Gage.

On June 1, 1937 she was married to Carl 0. Jorren in Artesia. She was a longtime area resident and returned to Artesia in 2005 from Oregon. He preceded her in death Apr. 27, 1985.

She was a property manager. She was a member of West Main Baptist Church, The Eagles Lodge, very active and involved at the Artesia Senior Center, Adult Day Care, Senior Mealsite, where she played the piano and fiddle, and member of Red Hat Society, Artesia Arts Council, Sr. Bible Study. She was a very talented artist, enjoyed making jewelry and bead work, and also wrote music having two of her songs copyrighted.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, by sons Harry Jorren and Jimmy Carl Jorren, by a brother Wallace Gage and a sister Elizabeth Welsh.

Survivors include son George Jorren and wife Glenda of Coeur DAlene, Idaho special friend of over 20 years Russ Hall of Florence, Oregon daughter inlaw Nancy Jorren of Artesia daughterinlaw Madelyn Jorren of Renton, Wash. sister Thelma Smith and husband Marvin of Rosedale, Calif. 11 grandchildren Jim Jorren, Cara Jorren Peterson, Mike Jorren and wife Sally, Keeley Jorren Holder, Carla Jo Reed and husband Bill, Diane Jorren, Bradley Jorren, Kristen Gearhart and husband David, Bobby Chitwood and wife Becky, Suzanne Chitwood and husband Gary, and Cliff Chitwood and wife Maribeth 30 greatgrandchildren, and 9 greatgreatgrandchildren with 2 on the way 8 nieces and nephews, 13 greatnieces and nephews, and 24 greatgreatnieces and nephews.
