Elmeta Welch

Graveside services are scheduled at 10:00 a.m. Friday, Dec. 10, at Woodbine Cemetery for Elmeta J. Welch of Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Mrs. Welch, 71, died Monday, December 6, 2010 at her home.

Rev. Leslie Tete Hendricks will officiate at the services.

Mrs. Welch was born June 14, 1939 in Bertram, Texas the daughter of Conway McKenzie and Mellisa Thurman McKenzie.

Elmeta was a longtime Artesia resident before moving to Albuquerque in 1991. In November of 1991 she was married to Lawrence Welch in Sante Fe, N.M.

She was a homemaker and a member of Azusa Christian Faith Church in Albuquerque.

She was preceded in death by her parents son Carlo Freeman daughter Carla Freeman and a brother J.B. Kincaid.

Survivors include her husband Lawrence Welch of Albuquerque daughter Carleta Freeman of the family home sons Carl Freeman of Albuquerque, and Lewis Hendrix of Roswell, N.M. brothers Orthell Kinnibrugh of Artesia, and Dorthell Kinnibrugh of Artesia 6 grandchildren and 5 greatgrandchildren.
