Elmer Fritz

Services are scheduled at 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 26, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church for Elmer P. Fritz of Artesia, New Mexico. PMr. Fritz, 80, died Monday, October 22, 2007 at Eastern New Mexico Medical Center in Roswell, New Mexico. PPastor Richard Von Steinman will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be his family members. PVisitation will be at Terpening amp; Son Mortuary Thursday beginning at 10:00 a.m. PMr. Fritz was born March 16, 1927 in Lewiston, Minnesota; the son of Paul Fritz and Gertrude Tews Fritz. POn Sept. 25, 1953 he was married to Gloria J. Toppett in Illinois. He came to Artesia in 1969 from Rochester, Minnesota. She preceded him in death Oct. 23, 1974. He was also preceded in death by his parents, and a son Michael John Fritz. PHe served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. PHe was a Maintenance Man for Artesia General Hospital and a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his sons Michael Fritz of Odessa, Texas, Kevin Fritz and wife Lisa of Des Moines, Iowa, and Steven Fritz and wife Susan of Gilbert, Arizona; daughter Sandra Fritz Carminati and husband John of the Netherlands; sister Loretta Tointon of Rochester, Minnesota; brothers Victor Fritz of Stewartville, Minnesota, Roy Fritz of Stewartville, Kenneth Fritz of Rochester, and Hilbert Fritz of Emerald, Wisconsin; 8 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
