Ella A Stowe Services are scheduled at 10:00 A.M. Monday, April 25,at First Presbyterian Church for Ella A Stowe, of Roswell, New Mexico. Mrs. Stowe, 99, died Thursday, April 21, 2005 at Eastern New Mexico Medical Center in Roswell. Rev. Bo Lewis will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled at Terpening Son Mortuary Sunday beginning at 2:00 P.M. Pallbearers will be Michael McNallen, Andrew McNallen, and Richard Venne. Mrs. Stowe was born March 28, 1906 in Ripon, Wisconsin; the daughter of Herman Zander and Augusta Prochnow Zander. On Oct. 26, 1935 she was married to Fred V. Stowe in Leadville, Colorado. She came to Artesia in 1946 from Wisconsin and Colorado. He preceded her in death Jan. 6, 1976. She was a Spanish teacher in Colorado and taught at Atoka Elementary School here locally. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, the Artesia Education Association, and the National Education Association. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters Sophia Zander, and Dorothy Behm; brother Herman Zander; and daughter Margaret Stowe. Survivors include daughter Barbara McNallen of Roswell, N.M.; sister Clara Gelhar of Waupaca, Wisconsin; grandchildren Rhonda J. Venne and husband Richard of Northampton, Massachusetts, Michael R. McNallen and wife Michelle of Artesia, and Andrew L. McNallen and wife Patricia of Snohomish, Washington; great-grandchildren Lauren and Jacen McNallen of Snohomish, Phillip and Claire McNallen of Artesia, and Kate and Molly Venne of Northampton.
