Elizabeth Mendoza Macias

Services are scheduled for 10 am Monday, January 20, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for Elizabeth M. Macias of Artesia, New Mexico.

Ms. Macias, 68, died on January 11, 2025 in Roswell, New Mexico.

Visitation will be at Terpening & Son Mortuary from 2 to 6 pm on Sunday. A rosary is also scheduled for 9:30 am on Monday at Our Lady of Grace Church. Burial of the urn will take place at 2 pm Tuesday, January 21, at Woodbine Cemetery.

Elizabeth was born on September 19, 1956 in Nuevo Casas Grandes, Chihuahua, Mexico; the daughter of Benjamin Mendoza and Josefina Macias.

She enjoyed cooking and was a cook at the Artesia Meal Site and La Herradura restaurant for many years. She also loved to listen to music and dancing, spending time with her family going out to eat, her favorite was Golden Corral, and taking trips to Mexico. She was an overall happy person.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Mario Mendoza.

Survivors include her son Cesar Fernando Chavez and wife Sarah Chavez; a daughter Claudia Chavez; brothers Benjamin Mendoza and wife Glenda Mendoza, Octavio Mendoza, Jose Raul Chavez, Carlos Mendoza and wife Veronica Mendoza; sisters Esperanza Mendoza, Aurora Mendoza, Margarita Mendoza, Irma Mendoza, Alicia Mendoza, and Delia Mendoza and husband Ramces Lafayette; also by grandchildren Fernando Chavez, Abigail Chavez, Cesar Chavez, Damian Chavez, Ileanna Montes, Alexis Montes, Jonathan Rivera, and Arianna Rivera.
