Elizabeth Broocke

Services are scheduled at 10 a.m. Friday, June 22, at Hermosa Drive Church of Christ for Elizabeth T. Broocke, 1402 W. Champ Clark Ave., Artesia, New Mexico.

Mrs. Broocke, 89, died Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at Heartland Nursing Center in Artesia.

Burial will be at Twin Oaks Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Johnny Miller, Jerry Yates, Mike Goss, Jack Joy, Mike Prude, and Doug Rodney. Honorary pallbearers will be Don Conner and J.T. Ross.

Visitation will be at Terpening Son Mortuary beginning at 10 a.m. Thursday.

Elizabeth was born June 7, 1923 in Post, Texas the daughter of Warren C. Tidwell and Eunice V. Chaney Tidwell. She was a lifelong resident of the Pinon and Artesia area.

On July 11, 1947 she was married to A.W. Dub Broocke Jr. in Artesia. He preceded her in death November 3, 1980.

Elizabeth graduated from Weed High School and attended Santa Fe Business College for a year. She returned to Artesia and was a bookkeeper and office manager for Artesia General Hospital from 1956 to 1986. She was a member of Hermosa Drive Church of Christ, and a volunteer for Vista Care Hospice.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Bill Tidwell and Warren Tidwell Jr., sisters Alma Means and Margie Lee Tidwell.

Survivors include daughters Deanna BroockeKoerper and husband Phillip of Phoenix, Arizona, and Linda B. Daniels of Artesia brothers Dan Tidwell of El Paso, Texas, Ronnie Tidwell of Azle, Texas, Jerry Tidwell of Little Rock, Arkansas, Fred Tidwell of Alamogordo, NM, and Charlie Tidwell of Ft. Worth, Texas grandson Zachary James Broocke Koerper of Nashville, Tennessee numerous nieces and nephews.
