Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 26, at First Baptist Church for Eliseo Doporto of Artesia, New Mexico.
Mr. Doporto, 80, died Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at his home with his family by his side.
Pastor Jose Pereles will officiate at the services with burial to follow at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Joshua Olguin, Christopher Doporto, Justin Olguin, Brandon Salsberry, Steven Doporto, Matteo Doporto and great-grandson Noah Olguin .
Eliseo was born June 19, 1938 in Loving N.M., the son of Jose and Esperanza (Ortega) Doporto.
He served in the Army National Guard of New Mexico and as a Reserve of the Army of the United States.
In October 12, 1957, he married Tommie Alaniz in Artesia, New Mexico , where they lived and raised their family.
He was carpenter for most of his life until he went to work for the Artesia Public Schools, as a Maintenance Foreman. After retirement in 2009, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling and his garden.
He is survived by his wife Tommie of the family home; children Ronnie Doporto and wife Lupe , Terri Olguin and husband Adam and Yvonne "Buni" Doporto; grandchildren Christopher Doporto and wife Elena, Steven Doporto and wife Candace, Matteo Doporto and Cassandra; Joshua Olguin and wife Tiffany, Justin Olguin, Brianna Olguin, Brandon Salsberry and wife Ruby; great grand-children Kiera Tabor, Autumn, Zach, Josh, Nathan, Aryiah and Skylah Doporto, Aiden Doporto, Kenley, Leyton and Micah Olguin, Lucas and Liam Olguin, Aubree, Noah and Aubuni Olguin.
