Elisardo Chavarria

Services are scheduled at 9:30 AM. Saturday, March 12, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for Elisardo Eli Rodriguez Chavarria, Artesia, New Mexico. Mr. Chavarria, 54, died Monday, March 7, 2005 at his home. Fr. Paul Murtagh SS.CC. will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. A vigil service is also planned for 6:30 P.M. Friday at Our Lady of Grace. The family will be receiving friends at 903 N. 5th St. or 1203 Centre Ave. Visitation will be at Terpening Son Mortuary beginning at 10:00 A.M. Friday. Mr. Chavarria was born May 5, 1950 in Artesia; the son of Thomas Chavarria and Olivia Rodriguez Chavarria. A lifelong resident of Artesia, Eli owned and operated several automotive paint and body shops; and was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church; and the National Rifle Association. He was preceded in death by his father. Survivors include his mother Olivia Chavarria of Artesia; a son Jacob Carbajal of Artesia; daughters Carrie Munoz and husband Albert of Artesia, Marla Barnes and husband James of Dallas, Texas, Cassandra Garcia of Artesia, and Eliana Chavarria of Artesia; a brother Tommy R. Chavarria of Artesia; sisters Hilda Huerta of Artesia, and Rosella Gamboa of Artesia; and nine grandchildren.
