Elisa Lujan

A rosary service is scheduled at 9:45 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for Elisa Ruiz Lujan, 1817 W. Sears Ave., Artesia, New Mexico. Mass will be immediately following at 10:15 a.m.

Mrs. Lujan, 90, died Wednesday, February 6, 2013 in Artesia, New Mexico.

Fr. Brian Guerrini, SS.CC. will officiate at the services. Burial will follow at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Chris Perez, Richard Perez, Greg Perez, Gabriel Perez, Steve Perez, Jr., and Tommy Sanchez. Honorary pallbearers will be Danny Guajardo, Sammy Joe Navarrette, Peter Chavarria, Mark Luevano, John Quiroz, and Frank Benavidas Jr.

Elisa was born May 10, 1922 in Malaga, New Mexico the daughter of Geneva Ruiz. She was a longtime resident of Artesia.

She was a housewife and a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church.

She was preceded by her parents, 2 husbands, a son, 2 daughters, a sister, and 2 grandchildren.

Survivors include sons Julio Perez, Jr. of Artesia, Albert Perez of Las Cruces, N.M., Henry Perez of Dumas, Texas, Joe Perez of Las Cruces, Steve Perez of Hobbs, N.M. daughters Delia Sanchez of Artesia, Lupe Guajardo of Hobbs, Carolyn Navarrette of Hobbs, Delfina Chavarria of Hobbs, Cruz Luevano of Odessa, Texas, Edna Leyva of Hobbs, and Gloria Benavidez of Hobbs 48 grandchildren, 117 greatgrandchildren, and 78 greatgreatchildren.
