Elisa Corrales

Services are scheduled at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 26, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for Elisa A Corrales of Artesia, New Mexico.

Mrs. Corrales, 80, died Sunday, August 23, 2015 at her home.

Fr. Martin Cornejo will officiate at the services with burial at Twin Oaks Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Matthew Cardenas, Angelo Thompson, Adrian Palomares, Ricardo Ruiz, Danny Chavez, and Brandon Thompson.

Visitation will be at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church Tuesday beginning at 4:00 p.m. A rosary will be at Our Lady of Grace Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.

Elisa was born March 15, 1935 in Big Spring, Texas; the daughter of Nieves Corrales and Maria (Aguilar) Corrales.

She was a longtime Artesia resident.

Elisa worked as a Housekeeper at Artesia General Hospital for over 30 years. She was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church and enjoyed playing bingo and attending garage sales. She also loved to spend time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother Jose Corrales; sister Luiz Catano; and longtime companion Raymundo Cardenas.

Survivors include her niece who was like a daughter Marilyn Thompson of Phoenix, Arizona; daughter Christine Dornan of Artesia; sister Jane Rosales of Roswell, N.M.; brother Marcilino Corrales of Las Cruces, N.M.; 4 grandchildren; 1 great-granddaughter; and a great-grandson on the way.
