Elena Pratt

Services are scheduled at 2:00 P.M. Monday, October 27, at the Christian Church in Sublette, Kansas for Elena Jean Pratt, Sublette. Mrs. Pratt, 77, died Thursday, October 23, 2003 at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City, Kansas. Rev. David Erwin will officiate at the services. Interment services will be at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday at Woodbine Cemetery in Artesia, N.M. with Rev. Mark Robinson and Rev. Gavin Vaughan officiating. Mrs. Pratt was born September 21, 1926 in Sonora, Texas; the daughter of Eugene Durham and Ethel Mae Reid Durham. On October 13, 1943, she was married to Raymond Alfred Pratt in Huntsville, Texas. They were longtime Artesia residents. Her husband preceded her in death May 22, 1995. She was also preceded in death by her parents, a son Raymond Pratt; and a sister Helen Durham. She moved from Hobbs, N.M. to Sublette in November of 1998. She was a ministers wife and music teacher and member of the Christian Church in Sublette; a past member of the Southern Baptist W.M.U.; and was a life member of U.M.M.T.A. Survivors include daughters Paula Leverett and husband Bernard of Sublette and Yvonne Smith of Edwardsville, Illinois; a sister Genevieve Sandhop of College Station, Texas; ten grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
